Punto Posters

I printed 500 copies of my Punto de Reunión poster and decided to put them up all over town. My friend and wheat-pasting master, Abe, did a remarkable job posting these up in innovative places. (Thanks!) I want people to feel as mystified about the posters as I am about the puntos themselves.

Mango Window

You know mangos are in season when there are wheel-barrows full of them on every corner. They appeared a few weeks ago, but just now they are entering a sweet spot of perfection.

eggplant and lentils

Spicy roasted eggplant, lentils with root vegetables, and a cooling salad of avocado, raw nopal, cucumber, and sesame. The spice mixture for the eggplant included pimentón, chile morita, cumin and anise.

Nevado de Toluca

Snow in Mexico??? Yes. Our friends Jacinto and Abdi took Kenny, Emma and I on an excursion to the 'Nevado de Toluca' a few weeks ago. It's a dormant volcano just a couple hours from DF. You drive pretty much to the top of the mountain and then hike down into the crater. There are two lakes with crystal clear water that go deep into the earth. It definitely feels like you're on another planet with the rock formations and peculiar vegetation.

A surprise package came in the mail from New York City.  Our dear friend Maria made us this precious SOY SALSA needle-point!  Thanks Maria, what a sweet gift.
